We’ve been pretty remiss and can only apologise for not announcing this before but as you know we’ve recently been swept away on a tide of music at the Benicassim Music Festival. And with approximately a week spent in sunny Spain (where wifi was free but dismally slow at our hotel) we weren’t able to post about the winner of our World Cup score predictions competition. So here goes…

Confessions of an F1 virgin

I’m a sports fan and love football and the World Cup, but I confess the F1 has never really sparked my interest. I used to live just seven miles from Silverstone and didn’t attend once. So when I was invited to the European Grand Prix I was amused. I couldn’t be bothered to nip up the road to see it but I’d happily fly all the way to Valencia to catch theirs. Still I’m delighted I did.

Just one of the great trips we undertook was from Cape Town along the Cape Peninsular to Cape Point – a journey of some 65 kilometres encapsulating awesome landscapes.

Party like it’s the World Cup

As the football World Cup in South Africa approaches it brings back great memories of the festival of fun we enjoyed at the last one in Germany. We’d applied for tickets over a year before and secured some for Serbia/Montenegro v Ivory Coast. Not the most mouth-watering game, but it was the World Cup and the occasion was the attraction.
